TENSE FINISH

Monday 8 February 2010

The closest finish in the history of the Australian one-day competition looms, with all six States sitting within one win of each other on the Ford Ranger Cup table.

WA’s unexpected bonus point win over the in-form SA on Saturday saw the Warriors jump from last to second place on the standings.

With top-placed Queensland (21 points from eight games) and bottom side Tasmania (16 points from eight games) separated by just a bonus point win, anything could happen over the next fortnight.

The XXXX GOLD Bulls have left no stone unturned in their preparation for the crucial Hobart leg of their season, having sent the players directly from Sydney to the Apple Island to prepare for both the four-day and one-day crunch games.

A clearer picture of the situation will emerge late on Wednesday night after Victoria have hosted NSW at the MCG.

Both teams are on 17 points from eight games, meaning the Bulls will have company at the top shortly.
